Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt turns 53 years on Sunday.
Sanjay Dutt was born in 1959 and entered the industry as a child actor in the film ‘Reshma Aur Shera’ in 1972.
The actor made his Bollywood debut in the year 1981 with the film ‘Rocky’.
The actor featured in hit films like ‘Naam’, ‘Khoobsurat’, ‘Daag: The Fire’, ‘Haseena Maan Jayegi’, ‘Vaastav: The Reality’, ‘Mission Kashmir’, ‘Kurukshetra’, ‘Kaante’, ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’, ‘Parineeta’, ‘Dus’, ‘Shabd’, ‘Zinda’ and others.
Dutt’s role in films like ‘Kurukshetra’, ‘Vaastav: The Reality’, ‘Parineeta’, ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’ has been praised by the critics and fans.
The actor even hosted the fifth season of one of the most popular reality shows on Indian television, ‘Big Boss’ along with his friend and co-actor Salman Khan.
This versatile actor of the industry was arrested and imprisoned in 1993 with the charge of possession of illegal arms and his involvement in the 1993 Mumbai bombings.
Though often regarded as bad boy of Bollywood, the actor has been involved in various philanthropic activities.
The actor joined politics with Samajwadi Party. In 2009 he was declared as the General Secretary of the party, but left the post in late 2010.
The actor married late actress Richa Sharma in 1987 and together have a daughter named Trishala. After Richa Sharma’s death Dutt married model Rhea Pillai in 1998. The couple got divorced in 2005.
In 2008 Dutt married Manyata, at a private ceremony in Goa. In 2010, they became proud parents of twins, a boy named Shahraan and a girl named Iqra.
